Does Spirit Ranch require a contract?
Yes, but it's not a long document written in "legalese". Basically, we want to protect the futures of our pups, as well as the future of their new families. Included in the contract is a guarantee against loss of the pup due to genetically inherited defect for up to two years from the date of purchasing the pup. What is the price of our pups?
Of course we think they are priceless, :-) but our prices actually depend on the quality of the specific pup you select.
What about shots & diet?
All of our pups come with age appropriate vaccinations and de-wormings. The pup's dew claws are also removed. We include information in your pup packet as to the type and dates of any medications or procedures your pup may have received.
Please be educated about what you feed your pup. Large breed dogs, including Great Danes, can receive too much protein in their diet. You should not feed anything with a high protein content. Most "puppy chows" are inappropriate for a growing Dane pup. We reccommend "Purina Dog Chow". In particular, Purina Adult Dog Chow, even for pups. This is a reasonably priced dry food, with appropriate levels of vitamins and minerals. Our dogs love it! It's always a good idea to read and compare labeled ingredients of dog foods. We feed our grown dogs twice per day, but our pups receive a supplemented breakfast, lunch & dinner!
Are Danes good house dogs?
Of course. That's the only place for a Dane! Our dogs are loving members of our family, and as such, live in the house with us. We will not knowingly place a pup with anyone who intends to keep the pup putside. Danes are very social creatures, who are devoted to the love and protection of their families.....they deserve to be inside with you.
Do you ship your pups?
Yes. We use both Continental & Delta airlines. The cost of shipping depends on the weight of the dog. Must pups are $350, including the crate & health certificate. Rates for heavier dogs quoted on request.
